Field trip - churches in Salzburg

On the crisp and cloudy day of October 12th we went out on a field trip with our history teacher Professor Straubinger to learn about the architecture of historic churches in the old town of Salzburg.

Each one of us had to prepare a small presentation on a specific church and we then had to explain everything to our fellow classmates. Which, honestly, was quite hard sometimes since no one of us was that versed in architecture but thankfully our teacher helped us out a lot if we were struggling.

Overall, we had a ton of fun and learned something new about our city and it's history.

We hope we can share our knowledge with our host brothers and sisters

if they are able to come over and stay with us in March or April :)

It's me - Van

Hi.

I'm Vanessa (or Van for short) and I'm currently the admin of this blog together with Professor Baier.

Even though our exchange is delayed (until Fall 2021) I want to keep you updated on the things we do to prepare and tell you more about our general (lockdown) life in Austria.

I added some pics of myself below, just so you know what I have been up to lately.

See you soon, hopefully!

Introduction

 Hi.

This year would have been the year of our big adventure

and for most of us their first trip to the US.

Things turned out differently.

A global pandemic shattered all of our plans and left us

with the uncertainty if we will even be able to fly at all.

At this point it's too early to tell but I’d like to quote our teacher

on this, Professor Baier because he always tends to say;

Si Dios quiere. (If god wants)

We haven’t lost our hope of course.

Right now, we’re planning to go either in march or September

next year when the worst outbreak of covid-19 is over and

everything will be mostly back to normal.

In school we are preparing for the exchange nevertheless.

We take a two-hour long class every Thursday

 afternoon/evening in which

we are working on our presentations about

Austria and our culture

and we hope we will be able to hold them in the

near future.

Yet we will be back in home office for a few weeks

until the end of November at least

but we will try to keep going and stay positive.

We have been waiting for our trip for 7 years.

I’m sure we can wait a few more months as well.

See you soon. (Hopefully)
